All About our Episode: “Welcome to the Jungle”
Six fun teams of expert house flippers/renovators compete at auction to buy three homes — that they’ve never even been inside. After the auction the three winning teams go to see what they just bought. The houses always need work, but how much? The three teams do amazing renovations then put the homes on the market hoping to make a profit. The question is, who will come out ahead In this episode (“Welcome to the Jungle”), it’s auction day and the teams hustle to scout three houses on the auction block.
Over in San Jose, Josh and Alisha inspect a 3 bedroom house that has a new air conditioner and windows, but the backyard has them nervous about expensive clean up costs. They find 3 strange octagonal mirrors with symbols on them in the house, as well as the same symbols drawn on the wall behind the stove. Intrigued by what they’ve found, and hoping it means good luck, they seek out Jennifer Emmer, a Feng Shui Master in San Jose to tell them more.
Behind the scenes at the shoot!
We had an absolute blast filming the show with Johlt Productions! Some of the crew members were so fascinated watching as I “Feng Shui’ed” Josh and Alisha, they insisted on being next! Since this was a reality show, HGTV really did hire me, and I really did perform a Feng Shui consultation, and we really did have amazing results!
What happened on the day of shooting was about 4-5 hours of improv, as Josh and Alisha learned all about Feng Shui, and how many factors go into my analysis of a space. There’s the “sign” of the building, the “sign” of all the occupants, the colors, directions, materials, elements, and the “objective” Feng Shui of the building itself. Then there’s the surrounding neighborhood, topogaphy, the time, the desires of the owners, areas that need help, and current problems. And that’s just to start. Basically, Josh and Alisha soon learned why I charge what I do. While the crew kept the cameras rolling, we easily created enough material to do a show solely on Feng Shui.
The Subject Property: Feng Shui’ed, Staged, and Ready to Sell!
What Happened with the House we Feng Shui’ed?
After getting a Feng Shui consultation on the home, Josh and Alisha implement Jennifer’s suggestions.
Ultimately the home sells with a 36% profit!
That’s what happens when you use the secret weapon of Feng Shui in real estate. Find out the whole story on this episode of Flip It To Win It. The show is available on “on demand” on HGTV, Apple iTunes, and Comcast in the Bay Area.
